BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES SYMPOSIUM 2026


The Center for Biomedical Engineering and Science, rooted within UNC Charlotte, in collaboration with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, presents the annual Charlotte Regional Biomedical Sciences Symposium 2026 Biomedical Sciences Ecosystem Creating Innovation for Impact. The Symposium will kick off the North Carolina Life Sciences Week and bring together over 350 researchers, clinicians, and industry from across the Carolinas and Virginia, fostering collaboration in translational research and innovative ideas to boost life sciences research and patient care. Networking and interactions with industry sponsors will be available throughout the day and at the closing reception. The morning Plenary Session includes keynote speakers and expert panels from key regional research, government, and industry stakeholders who will provide an overview of life sciences innovation and impact in the Carolinas region. Afternoon concurrent sessions provide focused talks and Q&A with researchers from across the Carolinas as well as opportunities to match with collaborators for seed funding. Two trainee poster sessions will spotlight in the afternoon. Light breakfast, coffee, lunch, snacks, and a closing resption will be provided.
