The BioCeramics 28 followed a series of previous successful conferences sponsored by various International Academic Institutes (www.ISCM.org) on the topic of Ceramics in Medicine. The 27th Bioceramics October 2015 in Bali, Indonesia attracted more than 200 attendees from 18 countries. The 26th Bioceramics, October 2014 in Fukoka, Kyushu, Japan attracted more than 210 attendees from 19 countries. The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine has more than 550 members from over 25 different countries, which positions it to garner a large international audience from both academia and industry with broad technical expertise in the area of Bioceramics.
The Bioceramics 28 attracted 125 attendees from around the world. The goals of the conference were to: (1) present trends in studies of bioceramics 3D printing that are of strategic importance to industry; (2) facilitate a sharing of scientific understanding on the formation and consequences of surface coating and characterization; (3) discuss case studies related to clinical applications of load bearing and non-load bearing bioceramics (4) identify and address the industrial needs/applications related to Bioceramics. This will be accomplished through keynote presentations from academia and industry, technical paper presentations, poster presentations and industrial exhibits.
